What if I dye my black hair eggplant color?

My natural hair color is this very blah dark blond color.. I dyed them jet black and now looking to add more color..

I would like a dark eggplant color ..

If I dye them dark eggplant from a box what will it turn out as?

I dont want to strip my hair and in no way do I have means to go see a professional hair stylist..

Also it would take years to have them grow back my naturla hair color and I dont even like it so..

What will it turn out like if I dye them dark auburn/eggplant over balck hair with some natural brown highlights and roots?

thanks

p.s. I know my hair is a mess lol

never use a store bought color for something off beat only in desperate measures find a pro %26amp; pay the cost

Just don't hang out by the produce section - someone may try to place you in their cart.

it might be worth waiting and saving your money until you can go to a professional salon. My grandmother used to dye her own hair and once ended up turning it bright blue! (not on purpose, lol... I think she was shooting for auburn.) Anyway, things can turn out way different than you want them to, especially when you're dying hair that's already been dyed. Best take it to the professionals!

your hair is not a mess but I will give you a few simple rule for hair coloring at home... if your hair is tinted already remember that artificial color/tint will not lift any other artificial color.... so applying eggplant over black is a waste of a perfectly good color... BUT... if you are daring and have a friend to help you you could always do a french fluff first... this is how... first shampoo your hair and rinse to remove any oil or product now whith your hair still wet take a mixed solution of off the scalp bleach like Clairol or Wella and mix a few scoops of bleach powder in a large hair color applicator bottle with 1/4 20 volume hydrogen peroxide and 3/4 water with a few good squirts of shampoo... put the lid on and put your finger over the applicator hole and mix gently until all the bleach powder is dissolved... then apply this quickly all over your head and then begin to shampoo it gently into your hair... have your friend keep an eye on it and as soon as it looks even the slightest bit red take it off by rinsing thoroughly and then shampooing again with regular shampoo, rinsing and then using a light conditioner to detangle it.. lightly towel dry and blow dry on a low heat setting before applying desired eggplant tint...

it's pretty involved so if you don't think that you can handle it see a professional

good luck
