Dying damaged, bleached hair?? =/?

A few months ago, i bleached my hair, and it damaged my hair really bad, creating a lot of breakage and it hasn't grown all the way out yet. My natural hair color is a medium, golden brown, so, i always have to continue dying it blonde, because my roots always contrast. Is there a gentle kind of blonde dye that I should use to dye my hair with? Or should i just dye it brown? The only thing is, every time i've dyed it brown, the color always fades, and washes out going back to blonde, and then my hair is always different shades. I really don't know what to do! I want my hair healthy, and to grow out long again (i've cut it so many times because of the damage). Can you please, help??

i kind of have the same problem, my hair is naturally a medium brown, and i bleached it out over the summer to a fairly light blonde [so i could dye it pink]. the only solution is to cut of the damaged hair, and use a deep conditioner daily.

you shouldn't shampoo your hair EVERY day, because it can dry out the already-damaged hair

I would try dying your hair with dye that doesnt wash out you have to get perm. hair dye and a lot of time it will say semi-perm on the box dont get that!!!!

Do not dye your hair any farther as it will only damage more of it. Instead leave your hair as it is and try using shampoos for damaged hair and then maybe you can consult a hair specialist.

If your hair is short now, let it keep growing, but you can cover some of it with a temporary or semi-permanent colour, or let it grow and ask the hairdresser to give it "lowlights" which means a lot of colour that basically matches your own real hair colour. You could use some of the blonde as highlights, and get it to a manageable look. Then you can decide if you want to let it grow out all your own natural colour, or at least have highlights which are not so hard on the hair. It will take a bit of time; but keep conditioning it, getting it trimmed; and do go see a hairdresser who can help you blend it in while it grows out.

Well... allow your hair time to grow out and regain strength again before doing anything extra to it for now. Allow it to grow long and strong before anything else. Then you can do the fun stuff like bleaching, dyeing, perms, and so on.

To get whole hair health, trim away at the hair that is damaged as it grows out...It seems as if your hair isn't going anywhere, but that removes damage - you cant grow a head of healthy hair without healthy hair!

Hope that helps!!

i would see a professional at this point. Your previously bleached damaged hair won't get better. It doesn't keep the color because the porousity is shot, it grabs to begin with but lets the color molecule go real quick. Unless you cut this part off it will always do that-I have had the same problem. a stylist can use a semi-or demi permanent color (once the bad is gone) and it is soo much less harsh on your hair. If you can find a salon that used Paul Mitchell hair color it makes it real shiny because the color has a beeswax base-it made even my over colored hair shiny...if your in the area

Don't dye your hair for 6 months. I know that is a long time but it will work. Trust me I know. Also to help your hair try leaving your conditioner on your hair for about 3 min when you are showering. It keeps it soft. I really like Sun Silk and the Garnier Fructis. I dye my hair about every 3 months. I change my hair color from dark to light blond. I know how bad the damage can be, but there are some things that I do that always keep my hair looking soft and hydrated. I always leave my conditioner on for 3-5 min while in the shower. It is the last thing I rinse off. I leave my hair wet and let it dry over night. I always leave my towel on my head for a while after I get out of the shower. In the morning before I straighten my hair, I spray on leave in conditioner. I don't know if this will help you, but it is my routine. I think you should let your hair grow out for 6 months before you dye or cut it again. I know it looks crappy but it will make your hair healthy again. OR, you can try the conditioner thing for a couple of weeks before you decide if your hair needs to have anything drastic done to it.
